Experience an authentic moment of Italian culture, warmth, and elegance with Tanorès’ Valdobbiadene Prosecco.

If you find yourself exploring the magical city of Venice in Italy, we highly recommend you take a short one-hour detour north to the charming town of Valdobbiadene. Here you will find a small wine-growing area nestled in the foothills of the Dolomites and in the province of Treviso, Veneto, adorned by breathtaking rolling hills, colorful and vivacious blossoms and the best Prosecco in all of Italy. The climate in Valdobbiadene is generally mild and cool, which makes it absolutely ideal for the grape varietals used to produce this popular extra dry, sparkling white wine.

The Follador family has been making wine in Valdobbiadene since the early 20th century. Today, the Follador brothers, Renato and Sergio enjoy sharing their knowledge, expertise, and traditions that were passed down to them by their great-grandfather, their grandfather and their father, who built a new winery in the prestigious Cartizze area. The winery is dedicated to Gaetano, their father, whose nickname was “Tano Rè” (king tano), hence the name of the winery.

Renato and Sergio tend to more than 24 acres of vines in Valdobbiadene, all of which are exclusively cultivated by hand. One of their vineyards and their winery is located in the famous Cartizze area, which is a small collection of vineyards in Valdobbiadene and the Prosecco created here is considered to be the finest in quality. Delicious hints of apple and pear alongside rich floral notes can be detected in the wine, which is due to the significantly steep south-facing hills and the unique historical soil made up of stratified sands, clays, and limestones that originally lay on the bottom of the deep sea some 15 to 20 million years ago.

The remaining Tanorè vineyards are all located in Valdobbiadene, and since each one has unique geological features each wine that is produced has different characteristics, which is why there are five distinct types of Valdobbiadene Prosecco. We have enjoyed tasting the delicious wines produced at this magnificent winery, but there are some prominent selections that we highly recommend to every wine lover. The Brut Valdobbiadene Prosecco provides a complex and refreshing flavor, the Extra Dry Valdobbiadene Prosecco is very fragrant with citrus scents, hints of florals and fruity notes and the Superiore di Cartizze Prosecco is the crown jewel of Tanorè with subtle notes of sweetness and well-balanced flavor.

The standard fizzy, sweet and simple flavors of Valdobbiadene Prosecco that you may be familiar with are elevated to a whole new level at Tanorè. Each has its own unique identity that can be attributed to the soil of the vineyard and the special technique of the winemakers. The family works tirelessly year-round tending to their vineyards entirely by hand with meticulous attention to every step of the process.

From the treatment of the property, to cultivation and finally converting the grapes into incredible wine, the attention, dedication, and passion that goes into their business extends into their products. Tanorè winery offers limited production of their wines, which allows them to establish careful techniques and take great care with every step of the process to create a truly incredible product.
